Meet a Codefresher

Marketing Operations Specialist – California, US

What was your very first job?

I spent about eight years selling souvenirs at a gift shop at the beach near my hometown. Working in a tourist town will give you stories that people barely believe! I’ve seen it all.

How did you get into your current job or field?

After college, I sort of fell into a job as a copywriter for a tech company. I really enjoyed copywriting, but what I loved most was exploring a brand new industry and learning about marketing. I was part of a small marketing team and often took on new responsibilities. I enjoyed this challenge and learned so much.

In looking for my next adventure, I wanted to continue my growth in marketing. I was also a huge fan of the company culture at Codefresh, so when this role opened up, I knew I wanted it. I was so thrilled to get the job!

What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?

Up until about 2017, my naturally blond hair was dyed jet black, and I pretty much only wore black clothes. After slowly bleaching my hair back to blond, I ended up getting a job that required me to wear black all the time, which meant I finally got tired of wearing the same color.

I’ve since lightened up my wardrobe, but I’ll always be a little goth at heart. (I talk myself out of dyeing my hair back to black about once a week.)

What is your favorite activity or hobby that you enjoy outside of work?

I love to walk or hike in nature. Especially with the pandemic, I have found it to be the best thing for both physical and mental health. We have some really great trails where I live. I also love to read and go wine tasting at some of our local wineries.

What is your best memory or favorite thing about working at Codefresh?

I started in May, but I’ve had a wonderful time so far. I love the fun activities and happy hours we have, as well as the flexibility of remote work. I spend all day with my two golden retrievers, and that to me is truly living the dream!
