Meet a Codefresher
Courtney Codefresh

Courtney O’Connor

Sr People Ops Manager – California, US

What was your very first job?

My first job was working at an after-school homework club at a local elementary school. My job was basically to tell kids to do their homework, help them if needed, and entertain them when they finished. My second job, which I did through high school and college, was lifeguarding. Lifeguarding ended up being more about assisting customers at the front desk and scooping poop out of the pool than saving people from drowning, but it was a great job to do throughout high school and college.

How did you get into your current job or field?

My plan after college was to obtain a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, but I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to go back to school. Instead decided to accept an Administrative Assistant job and figure out what I wanted to do next. In my role, I was exposed to different aspects of the business but gravitated toward Recruiting & HR.

What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?

I can make some pretty good cocktails (just ask the Mountain View team 😉)!

What is your favorite activity or hobby that you enjoy outside of work?

I love to travel and have been to twenty different countries (so far!). At home, my happy place is the dog park with my 1-year-old dog, Ollie. I also love to try different bars and restaurants in the Bay Area, and during basketball season, I go to almost every Stanford Women’s Basketball game with my dad.

What is your best memory or favorite thing about working at Codefresh?

I’m stealing this from everyone else, but there are really good, caring people here at Codefresh. I also love that I can work from home but still enjoy in-person happy hours with the Bay Area team!
